In 2018 life changed in an instant. Just as Mike & his wife Katie embraced the joys of becoming new parents, Mike was faced with an unexpected cancer diagnosis – a stark reminder of life’s fragility and the gift of each and every day. Determined to turn a bad situation into a positive story that helped others, he found strength in a likely ally...
Enter Neely, his golden retriever with a social media fan base as loyal as, well…a golden retriever! With the help of Neely’s incredible followers, they raised $50,000 for Dana Farber, one of the world’s best cancer research and treatment centers - proving that people (and dogs!) really can change the world together.
Inspired to keep the kindness and awareness train rolling, they joined the Advisory Board for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S and an amazing group of people focused on funding critical research and providing assistance to children with cancer and their families.
Shortly after his 8th birthday, Neely passed away after his own battle with cancer. While hearts are broken it only deepened our commitment and desire to help others. Through boop, we’re carrying forward the kindness, joy, and connection that Neely (and all dogs) bring to the world every single day!
